Four Year Anniversary and Still Growing Strong Cheetah Rodent Control Machine – Update!
Cheetah Rodent Control Machine – Update!
We caught up with Dana Shaw four years after he began selling the Cheetah Rodent Control Machine to see how things were going and what changes or additions, if any, he had made along the way.
“We developed the Cheetah because we needed something that worked well to eliminate ground squirrels and gophers on our property”, Shaw said. “That’s how Cheetah was originally conceived. We had used other methods, but had very mixed results. Since 2010, we’ve sold thousands of Cheetah machines and have received a lot of positive feedback from our customers. Some of the follow-up conversations have really been helpful in implementing improvements to the Cheetah. We re-regulated the air flow producing a higher level of carbon monoxide (CO), we upgraded the electrical switch to a dust/water-proof model and added a powder coated stand to stabilize the Cheetah, preventing it from tipping over.”
The Cheetah Machine houses a 2-cycle engine that produces over 25,000 PPM of CO, asphyxiating burrowing rodents. Employing a blower and a patented air/carbon monoxide mixer valve, gases are forced into tunnel systems at over one foot per second. Shaw added, “If it breathes oxygen and is in an enclosed tunnel system, the Cheetah will eliminate it. Prairie dogs, ground hogs, ground squirrels, gophers, you name it the Cheetah will get it”.
The Cheetah is easy to use and is portable, weighing only 16 pounds. It has deep burrow penetration, and is a highly effective system for dramatically reducing rodent populations. Using no explosives, poisons or chemicals, the Cheetah is environmentally friendly and safe to use. It’s not harmful to root systems, is EPA approved and safe for non-targeted animals, it has a long service life, is quiet at 69 dBA and built tough to handle rigorous use.
Shaw recommends running the engine for only 4 minutes for ground squirrels, treating up to 400 square feet of burrows. Field testing has produced kill rates of over 80% with the first application. Two or three additional applications have proven rodent reduction by more than 95%.
“We are grateful to have such a loyal customer base. Many of our customers have ordered multiple units and referred neighbors and business associates. We enjoy talking with everyone and want to be sure we can be of assistance to each and every customer. It really is a nice feeling and we thank everyone for their support”.
