Oversized Mailbox Flag

Our mailbox is a long way from the house so we can’t see a standard mailbox flag. To prevent unnecessary trips out to the road, I made an oversized flag that’s fitted with a door-close magnet from an old kitchen cabinet. A bracket attached to the door sticks to the magnet, holding it in the upright position. Once the door is open, the flag falls toward the back of the mailbox. We can easily see when it’s down.
