Money Does Grow On Trees: A New Cash Crop
“Together we believe that moving towards a carbon and timber based plantation we can stop the destruction of old growth forests and supply the world with a natural renewable resource, while reducing the world’s carbon demands. Farmers are going to be able to put cash back into their hands and wealth can be restored to those individuals investing in a sustainable and environmentally responsible product that works,” says Wendy Burton, CEO.
World Tree is now positioning itself to contract farmers to grow Empress Splendor™ trees on their land in a joint venture proposal that will be financially and globally rewarding for everyone. Big manufacturing businesses that are polluting our environment are now becoming consciously aware of the responsibility to offset their carbon footprint. As a result of this need, we will be seeking experienced growers as we contract with those companies who will be looking to us to offset their carbon emissions. The amazing attributes of this tree sequesters 6 times the amount of carbon than any other broad leaf deciduous tree and still allows the harvesting of its timber every 7 to 10 years and will continue to do so as it regenerates from the stump up to 7 times.
The wood is strong, lightweight and prized by musical instrument makers, cabinet makers and used for windows, doors, spindles, crown molding and trim. The wood has minimal warping, splitting, cracking, does not rot and is insect resistant. By planting 300 trees per acre on a 12 by 12-ft. grid, you can produce a minimum of 30,000 board feet of lumber at an average price of $3 to $14 a board foot. Ideal growing zones are 6 to 11.
Burton encourages readers to call World Tree Technologies and ask the questions that will make the difference for what matters and is important to them. She and her staff will educate and support customers in learning how to take advantage of the amazing opportunities that currently exist inside this global initiative. “We look forward to creating a profitable and positive experience for all of our customers.”
