Protect Tractor Tracks And Tires From Stubble Damage
May Wes Manufacturing introduces one more way to protect your farm equipment from excessive wear and damage – the Tractor Stalk Stomper.
Because the stalks and stubble of today’s hybrids are stronger and more rigid, they cause more damage and cause accelerated wear to tractor tires and tracks. Stalk Stompers are needed to protect your tires and tracks on not just combines, but now on tractors, too.
May Wes has taken the Stalk Stomper for the combine and invented the best way to mount it to the tractor to provide the added protection for tillage and no-till planting. Here is how it works.
The rugged metal shoe, lined with the ¼-in. thick UHMW poly that’s been used on the combine Stalk Stomper, has been redesigned to be wider and curved more in the back. In one pass the wider shoe will cover enough area to protect wide tracks and tires. The back of the shoe has been designed with a sharper curve to take up less space in the transport position. It is designed to raise and lower on a 4-in. square tube and typically requires no drilling or welding to install.
Tractor Stalk Stomper works off of your existing tractor hydraulics to raise and lower the stompers. Connect to your tractor hydraulics through an open remote or plumb a “T” into the implement’s raise and lower lines.
On many late-model tractors, use the May Wes exclusive Automatic Lift Switch to raise and lower the stalk stompers automatically whenever the tractor is put into reverse. This will prevent costly damage to the stompers and tractor.
Overall the Tractor Stalk Stomper will provide the added protection that some tire manufacturers are requesting the farmer to have to meet the owner/user obligation and validate their tire manufacturer warranties.
