U.S.-Built Pellet Mill Manufacturer Introduces New Home Owner Unit
Buskirk Engineering made its debut to the market place with its popular 8 and 12-in. PTO Pellets Mills in December of 2008 after several years of research and development. Kevin Riley, Sales Manager for Buskirk Engineering says, “Our American-made flat die design is different than the Asian mills on the market, which were designed for manufacturing feed but are used for biomass densification with mixed results.”
According to Riley, Buskirk Engineering pellet mills employ features not seen with other competitors on the market. “Low speed, high torque, a stationary case-hardened die, case-hardened rollers, and a higher material dwell time are features that make the Buskirk pellet mill the best unit available,” says Riley.
The 6-in. PTO uses the same pelletizing chamber and components as the 8-n. PTO. As well, all three PTO models (6, 8, and 12-in.) use the same robust gearbox, frame, and 3 point hitch system. Each sized model comes in an electric motor version as well, from the 6-in. 5 hp Model to the 12-in. 30 hp model.
“Capacity needs for the home owner are lower, as well as the price point”, says John Buskirk, President and CEO of Buskirk Engineering. “Consequently, we designed the 6-in. with the homeowner in mind, and the university which has need for a lower capacity, higher quality pellet mill.”
The PM6PTO 6-in. Pellet Mill sells for $3,990.00. For those wanting to utilize the motorized version, the PM605 Pellet Mill with a single phase 5 hp motor with a variable frequency drive for speed control is available for $4,500. The PM605 with a 3 phase 5 hp motor is available for $3,990.
Along with the single pellet mills, Buskirk Engineering introduced the Modular Densification System to the market place in April of 2010. The modular system allows the pellet manufacturer the ability to produce biomass pellets with a turn-key system. The system utilizes a hammer mill, air delivery system, pellet mill, conditioner and pellet cooling conveyor.
Crop residues and waste stream materials can be pelletized at capacities ranging from 500 lbs per hour to 2 tons per hour at a fraction of the cost of competing ring die pellet mills. The modular system utilizes a small footprint, lower energy requirements, and less manpower than competing large scale systems.
Plants available are the Single, Dual, Quad, and Dual-Quad PM1230 Densification Systems. Modular systems start at $23,400.
As North America’s leading Flat Die Pellet Mill Manufacturer, Buskirk Engineering is poised to lead the market in systems made available to the business entrepreneur looking to capitalize on the new Renewable Energy Initiatives developed by the nation’s legislators.
