3-Wheeled Motorcycle
Prom built a 2-wheeled motorcycle using Deere parts (Vol. 28, No. 5). But he had trouble riding it because it was geared too high and was too heavy.
So he converted the 2-wheeler to a 3-wheeler, replacing the single wheel on back with a pair of 12-in. ATV tires. They're fitted to the wheel rims off a Deere garden tractor. He also installed a 4-speed rear end out of a Deere garden tractor. The Deere 2-cyl. pony motor (off a Deere 49 R diesel) has its own clutch, which chain-drives the transmission via a jackshaft. The gearshift lever is located behind the seat.
He also installed the seat off a Deere manure spreader. The engine and gas tank are original.
