Utility Trucking Mounted Toolbox
Kevin Thomas, 60478 S.E. 30th St., Pratt, Kansas 67124 ph 620 388-1895: "As an employee of the Kansas Department of Transportation, I came up with this utility truck-mounted toolbox. It fits between the truck's frame and snowplow mounting bracket and measures 34 1/2 in. long, 12 in. wide and 9 1/2 in. high.
"I can access the toolbox whether the snowplow is on or off, and I can raise or lower the snowplow with no interference from the toolbox even when the lid is open. There's room for the truck hood to be opened as the toolbox fits between the hood and truck frame.
"I built it because we're required to carry certain tools with us on the job. We had been using a toolbox that bolted onto the side of the truck frame, but it was so heavy that it broke the mounting bolts. Now our tools are always where we need them. I'm looking for a manufacturer."
