Live Floor Fits Most Truck Beds
New uses are busting out all over for a new "Live Floor" from Ag-Bag Corp., Astoria, Oreg., that instantly converts your standard straight truck into a self-unloader.
"It's especially popular with owners of our Ag-Bag machine for stuffing silage into long plastic bags," says Gail Frazier, an Ag-Bag distributor at Logan, Iowa. "We've also sold units to owners of competing silage-stuffing machines. The live bed allows you to unload silage into the stuffing machine at a uniform rate. Speed of the conveyor is infinitely variable from 0 to 52 in. per min. And, if that's not fast enough, you can change sprockets to get whatever speed range you want."
Another key advantage of the Live Floor, according to Frazier, is that it allows you to self-unload truckloads of material inside buildings wherelow ceilings prevent raising the box for conventional unloading.
The standard unit is 6 in. deep, 20 ft. long and can overhang 14, 16 or 18 ft. long truck boxes. It'll also adapt to 20 or 22 ft. boxes by putting in a false front section so the rear of the Live Floor overhangs the end of the box. Each unit comes in two twin sections which, placed side by side, fit inside a standard 8 ft. wide box. The unit can be driven off the truck's hydraulic system, or off the silo-stuffing machine's hydraulic system. It's grain tight and can be used for silage, grain, sand, sawdust or other materials.
Sells for $3,475.
