You attach the cutter to your vacuum cleaner, choose the spacer you want, and the hair is drawn up into the cutter by the vacuum. It results in a precision hair cut, and the vacuum takes care of all the mess. Even on my first attempt I got a good cut. It cost $70 but quickly paid for itself.
