Russell Cramer, Oconee, Ill., and other members of his church, makes ice cream in three freezers at the same time. A "one banger" gas engine is belted to an old gear that shaft-drives an elaborate gearbox that drives all three freezers at once. The driveshaft on each freezer has a slip clutch that lets operator know when ice cream is finished.
