We've developed a profitable sideline to our farm operation buying buffalo calves and fattening them to slaughter weight. We try to keep about 20 on hand. Most are sold off the farm in quarters and halves. We kill them on farm and slaughter at local lockers. They sell for $1.20 hanging weight plus packaging. So far, we've been doing quite well.
