"Game Crane" Lets One Person Field Dress Deer
"Our new pickup-mounted Game Crane allows one person to field dress, skin and load a deer or other big game animal," says Steve Sheetz, Vittetoe, Inc., Keota, Iowa.
The Game Crane mounts on any standard 2-in. receiver hitch (an adapter is also available for mounting the unit on a flat hitch.) A manually operated 1,200-lb. winch is used to lift the animal. The unit consists of a vertical steel bar which supports a hinged horizontal bar with a set of gambrel hooks at one end that are used to hold the deer. After you dress the animal, you can swivel the horizontal bar 360 degrees in order to load the carcass onto the pickup bed.
"You can use it to pull the skin from the carcass during the lifting action. Simply tie the tail to a hook on the lower part of the Game Crane when it's in the lower position and winch the hide off. It can also be used as a carcass handler for taking dead hogs or other livestock to an incinerator or compost pile," notes Sheetz.
  Sells for $180 plus S&H.
