Speed Up PTO Sprockets Let Tractor Run At Slower RPMs
"We can run our tractor at a slower speed and still have 540 rpm's on the pto shaft thanks to the sprocket attachment we mount on our tractor pto," says Lawrence Grabher, Hemingford, Neb. (Safety shield removed for photo.)
The speed-up sprockets, which double the speed of the pto shaft, drive an under floor bin unload auger.
Grabber says the arrangement reduces wear and tear on the Ford 800 series tractor. He runs a sweep auger inside the bin with hydraulics from the same tractor.
