"Out Front" Combine Light Shines On Crop
"It puts light right where you need it," says the inventor of a new combine cab-mounted extension kit that puts light out in front of the header.
"Putting the lights in front of the dust cloud lights up the crop instead of the reel and the dust cloud over the feederhouse," says Grant Hanson, inventor and manufacturer.
Hanson's "Right Light" consists of three lengths of 1 in. sq. tubing anchored to the front of the grain tank and braced by supports on top of the cab.
Seven 50-watt Halogen flood lights - four fanning forward and three fanning down - mount at the end of the framework, which extends 1 to 1 1/2 ft. in front of the reel.
The new light system will fit any make or model combine, Hanson says. He hopes to have the system on the market later this year.
