3-Row Head Retro Fitted To C-IH Forage Harvester
"The original 3-row corn head on our late model Case-IH 8750 forage harvester was very troublesome. It worked pretty well in ideal conditions, but would plug in front of the feedroll if the corn was short or if there were any weeds or grass.
"To solve the problem, we found a 3-row head off an IH-830 harvester and retrofitted it to our machine. We cut about 220 acres with it this year and it never plugged in front of the feedroll. Also, we can cut through a field and turn around and go right back to split a field with very little crop loss. In addition, rotary cut-off knives are far superior to the sickle bar on the original head. The sickle bar wore out in just one season."
