Fire-Resistant Hydraulic Fluid
Almost everyone knows someone who's burned up a tractor or combine at one time or another. That's why Union Carbide recently introduced a new fire resistant hydraulic fluid to the farm market.
Hydrolube HP 5046 is formulated with a state-of-the-art additive package that makes the oil less flammable. The company says the product has been used successfully in industrial applications for many years.
The company says Hydrolube 5046 is the only hydraulic fluid that performs effectively at pressures as high as 5,000 psi. It has a high viscosity index and low pour point that al-lows year-round use. The biodegradable oil is water soluble so you can wash spills away with water. When used properly, the product doesn't produce sludge or varnish and has a long fluid life, says the company. Some users have reported up to 8,000 hours of fluid service.
