Corn Chopper
New on the market in Europe with a completely "row independent" chopper is Krone Mashinenfabrik, of West Germany.
Intended for work either in or out of rows, the 6' -ft. wide MC 16B "corn chopper" uses a combination of stationary knives and a horizontal bed chain ù equipped with 16 knives and paddles ù to cut the standing crop and deliver it to the chopping assembly. Three intake speeds are available to produce adjustable chop lengths from 1.6 in. to 11 in.
The high-capacity chopper, rated at 90 metric tons per hour, weighs only 2,425 lbs.
