Nifty Terrace Seeder
"Other methods did a poor job," says Richard Kragel, Charter Oak, Iowa who built a nifty terrace seeder that mounts on a front-end loader.
Kragel first took a look at mounting a seeder on the side of a pickup box, but didn't like the results. His offset seeder reaches out to the side of the tractor to get right over the terrace.
"It consists of two 11-ft. lengths of 3-in. channel iron, quick tach loader brackets, and a Herd seeder (model I-92) equipped with a 12-volt motor that runs off the tractor battery. Takes less than 5 min. to mount. We've used it for two years, along with our friends and neighbors, and it works perfect," says Kragel.
