Do It Yourself Safe Easy To Handle
If you've ever bought a burglar-proof safe to store records, a gun collection, or other valuables, you'll understand where Iowa inventor Mark Zanotti got the idea of de-signing a do-it-yourself safe that comes disassembled in easy-to-handle pieces.
Zanotti bought a gun safe that weighed several hundred pounds and had trouble getting it up a stairway. Soon after, he designed a safe with interlocking components that can be put together in less than 20 min. Pieces (6 total) snap together, secured by pins that can only be reached from inside.
"These are state-of-the-an safes made with top quality materials. You can easily assemble them in a small area, such as a closet," says Zanotti, who's doubled sales every year since he started business and has even started selling units in Europe through a distributor in Switzerland.
His safes vary from 5 to 6 ft. high and from25 in. wide by 20in. deepto40in. wide by 30 in. deep. They weigh from 350 to 750 lbs. Interiors also vary depending on how you plan to use them. They can be fitted with drawers or gun racks (the largest model will hold up to 52 long guns). Prices range from $800 to $1,800.
