Low-Cost Way To Control Flies, Lice

You'll like the price tag on the new Doctor Scratch Disposal Duster, a new low-cost way to control cattle lice and flies.

Dust (1 percent Coral) comes in disposable tubes which you throw away when empty. The tubes are 4 1/2 in. in dia. and 44 in. long. One tube treats approximately 40 to 60 animals for two to three weeks, says Roger Swihart, distributor.

Individual tubes of dust have four valves which dispense dust when animals rub against the tube.

All you need to "harness" a dust tube for pasture or feedlot use is a wooden post, plus brackets for mounting a single dust tube to the post. Or, you can buy a metal, free standing, double-mount dispenser (holds two dust tubes).
