Cabinets Made From Old Farm Windbreak
“I make cabinets from salvaged wood that comes from old farm windbreaks,” says Earl Line, Melita, Manitoba. “The wood is very weathered and has a grey color, and most of it is rough cut so it’s very uneven in thickness. I leave the wood in its natural state without any stains or sealers, as they tend to darken the wood.

“We use virtually every piece of wood no matter how thick or crooked it is. The best is used for cabinets, and the worst for smaller projects such as picture frames. I use a table saw, miter saw, and brad nailers to make everything. I donate many projects to community organizations and also sell a few.”
