Cobalt Drills For Tough Jobs FARM SHOP Tools 1-6-23 New heavy-duty drills made of cobalt high speed steel are designed to handle the really tough drilling jobs.
Introduced by Kar Products, they feature a 135? split point eri i which gives them a firm, instant "bite" without center punching and without the usual wandering you get with conventional drills, particularly on pipe or other uneven surfaces.
"These drills are made of the finest quality cobalt high speed steel available, and will deliver more holes by far than any standard drill bit," a spokesman points out. You can buy individual drills, or a complete set of cobalt drills which includes 29 drills ranging in size from 1116 to 112 in. The set reportedly retails for right at $170; cost of a single 112 in. bit is about $16.
