Sharpener Works On
Big Drill Bits

A couple of years ago FARM SHOW reported on an inexpensive new drill bit Stan MacDonald, Foxboro, Ontario (Vol. 24, No. 6). It's an attachment for benchtop grinders that he says does a near-perfect job. It sharpens any bit up to 1-in. dia., regardless of length.

After the story was published, MacDonald had a lot of requests for a larger drill bit sharpener . It prompted him to came up with a new model that will sharpen bits up to 3 in. in diameter. It'll handle tapered or straight shank bits with two, three, or four flutes.

MacDonald says bits sharpened by his sharpener actually do a better job than new drill bits. "It compares favorably with sharpeners that cost thousands of dollars. It's easy to use and built to last," he says.
