New Come-Along Works With Rope
You can use this new "Rope Along" with any length of rope. That
means it can be used on a wide variety of jobs, including almost
anything you would ordinary use a winch for, says the distributor,

The company says it's lighter and faster than conventional
come-alongs which must be used with cable or wire. And you're not
limited by length.
In effect, the Rope Along can be used as a winch for all kinds of
towing jobs. It lets you use any ordinary rope to tie down loads.
