World's Largest Round Baler

"World's largest" is how New Holland is billing the 858, latest addition to their round baler line. It makes 7 1/2 ft. wide, 5 1/2 ft. dia. round hay bales weighing up to 2,300 lbs.
According to a company spokes-person, since there is more hay in each bale, you'll make fewer trips across the field hauling bales, and spend less time in the field tying bales.
The 858 shares many of the featuresof the 855 round baler (featured in FARM SHOW Vol. 6, No. 6) including the air bag that controls bale density and rubberized steel drums that replace gathering chains.
The new 858 sells for right at $23,000.
