Iron Bull Makes Certified ROPS And Canopies For Many Tractors
Iron Bull LLC has been making tractor shade canopies and support frames since 2014. Working with assistant professors of Agricultural & Biological Engineering at Purdue University and after 2 years of extensive research and testing, they now make aftermarket roll-over-protective structures (or ROPS) for John Deere New Generation series and selected International tractors. ROPS for Oliver, Massey Ferguson and Ford tractors are currently in the design and testing stages for certification.
Product testing for certification is done in a special building that can simulate both cold and hot weather conditions. The ROPS structure must be able to withstand roll-over forces without breaking apart and will keep the operator safe in a roll-over situation.
99% of roll-overs with a ROPS and seat belt in use result in no major injuries. The leading cause of accidental deaths on farms is from roll-overs according to the National Tractor Safety Coalition.
Canopies start at $675 plus shipping and vary by model and features.
