Unicorn Steer Worth At Least $50,000
![]() |
FARM SHOW tracked down this photo of Spike, a 3/4-Hereford, 1/4-Jersey steer, and his owner Ray Fisher, of Yorba Linda, Cal. Spike's horn, located right in the center of his forehead, is 25-in. long.
Fisher bought the unusual steer for $2,000 from T.G. Magonigal, a rancher in central California, who had kept the animal out of the public eye. "The price was a steal," says Fisher, who estimates that the animal is "worth at least $50,000".
When Spike dies, Fisher says he'll have the horned steer's head stuffed and mounted on a wall for a most unusual hat rack.
