Crop lifters COMBINES Accessories 13-4-29 "Crop lifters" from C.F.C. Distributors, Inc., Roann, Ind., lift corn ears that might other-wise fall to the ground during harvest, ac-cording to the company.
"They provide just enough lift to get the ear to the snapping rolls before it can be shelled or ground up in the field," says Ralph Bolinger, president. "If stalks are laying over, the ears tend to rub against the side of the head or go underneath the snap-ping rolL `Crop lifters' raise them up far enough so the ears reach the snapping rolls. The units also lift beans to help prevent in-field loss with row crop heads."
To install, you simply insert the small pointed end under the cone on the nose section of the snout guard and position the plastic "crop lifters" at the top of each snout by drilling holes and bolting them into place.
They fit most popular corn and row crop heads and sell for $8.95 per row.
